Halo 5 Multiplayer Beta Available Today

Players who purchased Halo: The Master Chief Collection, will be among the first to experience a new generation of Halo multiplayer in the Halo 5: Guardians Multiplayer Beta, which launched today.

Halo 5: Guardians is an upcoming first-person shooter of The Halo franchise. It is being developed by 343 Industries and published by Microsoft Studio, serving as the sequel to Halo 4.

The Halo 5: Guardians Multiplayer Beta is a part of Halo: The Master Chief Collection, which releases on Nov. 11, 2014. The Halo 5: Guardians Multiplayer Beta will run on dedicated servers at 60 frames-per-second to deliver the best multiplayer experience, and include unlockable which can be carried over to Halo 5: Guardians when it launches in fall of 2015.

This multiplayer beta will allow players to unlock the exclusive content in Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Halo: Nightfall, which will carry over into Halo 5: Guardians.

Arena combat in Halo 5: Guardians will focus on providing matches that are balanced and competitive, featuring intense 4 vs. 4 showdowns. And the multiplayer beta includes seven maps and three game types, as well as a variety of different armor sets to customize player’s Spartan. Throughout the beta, players will have the opportunity provide feedback through the Halo Channel.

The beta will focused on a very specific element of Halo 5’s multiplayer: mobility. In this latest Halo, Spartans will be able to do things they’ve never done before, like slide, climb and infinitely sprint.

The Halo 5: Guardians Multiplayer Beta will run from Dec. 29, 2014 through Jan. 18, 2015 and focus on the arena gameplay portion of Halo 5: Guardians’ full multiplayer experience.
