Hitman 3 to Launch on Epic Games Store for PC

Hitman 3

IO Interactive has announced that Hitman 3 will launch exclusively for Epic Games Store on PC.

The game was announced in June during the PlayStation 5 reveal event. Hitman 3 was confirmed to be launched for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and gaming PC in January 2021. And now, we know that Hitman 3 will launch exclusively for PC via Epic Games Store in January — possibly as a part of the timed deal.

The developers also revealed an outline of all the different game modes available in the game. IO Interactive also confirmed that Hitman 3 will introduce new game modes, but will end some,  including the 1v1 multiplayer Ghost Mode.

One of the brand new modes that will be introduced in Hitman 3 is the sandbox campaign mode. According to IO, this mode will tie the story of the trilogy together.

Another mode that will be included in the game is the Elusive Targets Mode. This is a mode that will enable players to get one shot at eliminating a target without help from the game’s HUD.

Hitman 3 will also feature the Escalations mode and Contract mode. Escalations will feature gameplay restrictions and other difficulty modifiers to make some of the hardest challenges in the game.

The game will also include the Sniper Assassin mode, where players must use a sniper rifle to rack up the highest scores. However, it will be for a single-player experience. Its co-op version will end before the launch of Hitman 3.

The 1v1 Ghost Mode has also ended, and will not be featured in Hitman 3. Its servers were closed last August 31, 2020. But IO Interactive did say that they will use the things they’ve learned in the Ghost mode when they consider developing another multiplayer mode in the future.

In other news, IO Interactive confirmed that Hitman 3 will be fully playable in VR.
