League of Legends has introduced a new champion to the game, Vex, the Gloomist. She is a mid-lane hero who can deal damage to her enemies using her Shadow. As described in-game, Vex is a gloomy and emo yordle from Bandle City who hates happiness and color. She is also the one who amplifies Viego’s control over the Black Mist with the goal of spreading misery all over Runeterra.
Check out Vex’s abilities below:
Passive – Doom’ n Gloom
Doom – Vex becomes empowered by Doom periodically. This causes her next basic ability to interrupt dashes and inflict Fear on her enemies.
Gloom – Whenever there is nearby opponent dashes or blinks, they will be marked with the Gloom. Vex’s next basic attack against an enemy marked will cause it to detonate, dealing bonus damage. It also refunds a part of Doom’s cooldown.
Q – Mistral Bolt
Vex launches a wave forward, which deals magic damage to enemies that it passes through. After a short delay, this wave then accelerates but has reduced width. The Mistral Bolt then detonates the Gloom effect on any marked enemies it hits.
W – Personal Space
Vex gains a shield that emits a shockwave. The shockwave deals magic damage to enemies around her. This ability can detonate Gloom on any marked enemies it hits.
E – Looming Darkness
This ability allows Vex to release the Shadow, which flies to a location, increasing in size as it travels forward. On arriving, the Shadow then deals magic damage to the enemies it hits. It also slows down and marks those enemies with Gloom.
R – Shadow Surge
The Shadow flies forward, marking and dealing magic damage to the first enemy champion it hits. Vex can then recast the ability to have the Shadow pull her to the marked target, which deals additional magic damage.
If the marked target dies within a short time upon taking damage from Shadow Surge, Vex can then cast Shadow Surge again within a few seconds.
