The Left 4 Dead franchise is undeniably the most popular zombie-survival game in the market. Even after seven years of Left 4 Dead 2’s release, its popularity hasn’t died down. Since then, fans have longed for a new game to add to the series featuring new characters, maps, and features.

According to a few online leaks, Left 4 Dead 3 will introduce four new characters, one female and three males, similar to the previous games. The names of the survivors were even revealed by DigitalSpy.com: a black gangster named Irvin, a comic book nerd named Keenan, a famous Kenpo fighter Garett, and a 24-year old Caucasian female by the name of Katherine.

There was also news that Left 4 Dead 3 will be a prequel to Left 4 Dead 2. A source at Valve said that the story will take place a month after The Infection or Green Flu has begun to spread. This means that the new game will give us a better view of what actually happened before the zombie infection takes place. Aside from this, the game is said to introduce six new campaigns: Cliffhanger, Crashland, Early destination, Impasse, Inquisitor Land, and No Mercy.

Left 4 Dead 3 will also introduce a new feature in the game known as the backpack system. This will force the survivors to carry one particular item at a time. This could mean that you can only pick between carrying a melee weapon/pistol or a rifle/shotgun.

There are no details yet to when Valve will first give us a sneak peek of the game. However, many online sites have posted that Left 4 Dead 3 is said to be released on 2017. For now, let’s settle ourselves and be satisfied with Left 4 Dead and its sequel, Left 4 Dead 2.

Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 are still available on Steam for Mac OS, Linux, and Microsoft Windows gaming desktops. You can even buy the two games as a bundle.
