LOL Ruined King is Coming to PC in 2021

Ruined King

Riot Forge, the team assigned to publish spinoffs set in the League of Legends universe, has revealed Ruined King. It is a turn-based RPG set in Runeterra, targeting an early 2021 release on gaming PC and console

Ruined King was first announced in 2019 during the Game Awards. Back then, it was reported to be Riot’s first single-player game that features the League of Legends universe. According to its developer, Airship Syndicate, Ruined King allows players to control a party of League’s popular champions, including Miss Fortune, Illaoi, Ahri, Yasuo, Braum, and Pyke.

Riot also released a cinematic trailer for the game, which shows how the group comes together to embark on a new journey.

Starting from the port town of Bilgewater, the group will travel to the Shadow Isles, the land cursed by the Black Mist. This is where they must find and defeat the entity called the Ruined King.

According to Riot, Ruined King is the studio’s way of expanding the world of Runeterra to introduce it to new players and deliver something new to the dedicated League of Legends fans. This game will be the first single-player game to bring the League of Legends’ massive universe to both PC and consoles.

Ruined King will be released for PC via Epic Games Store and on consoles, including PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. Riot will also offer a free upgrade of the game for Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X/S for previous-gen console owners.

Riot Forge is the new development initiative that works with other third-party game developers to create new games set in the LOL universe. As previously announced by Riot, the studio will be expanding its portfolio of games. This includes the Legends of Runeterra, Valorant, and a new fighting game yet to be announced.
