Fans who are waiting for the acclaimed trilogy of Mass Effect should be excited. EA and Bioware finally announced that the upcoming Mass Effect Legendary Edition collection will be released worldwide on May 14, 2021. The game will be published for gaming pc via Origin and Steam. It will also be released for PS4 and Xbox One.
As confirmed, there won’t be any specific next-gen versions available. However, the Mass Effect Legendary Edition will be available to play on next-gen consoles, including PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, via backward compatibility.
The Mass Effect Legendary Edition includes single-player player content in the three games, namely Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2, and Mass Effect 3. It will also feature more than 40 pieces of all the downloadable content. This includes all the story expansions, armor packs, weapons, and all of its content, which will be playable in 4K Ultra HD with HDR as stated by EA.
As explained by EA, the entire collection will include all the remastered character models. It will also feature tens of thousands of upgraded textures. This includes improvements in the game’s visual effects and shaders, as well as updated lighting and improved dynamic shadows. It will also show depth-of-field and volumetric effects. Not only that, but the developers also mentioned the collection’s enhanced pre-rendered cinematics.
Mass Effect Legendary Edition will feature comprehensive world-building enhancements, as well as added detail and depth. These improvements can be seen in known locations as well as Eden Prime, Feros, and Ilos. The developer will include improved interfaces, UI, and a ton of quality life additions to the game.
The developers also explained that the original game’s combat system has been modernized. This means that the remastered version has better squad controls, aiming, cameras, behavior, and Mako handling.
Fans of the Mass Effect Legendary Edition can now preorder the game for their pc and consoles. The collection costs $59.99 and is available to preorder on Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, PS Store, and MS Store.
