Bioware has finally confirmed that they will be releasing the Mass Effect Legendary Edition in the Spring of 2021. The studio announced the news during the N7 Day, where Bioware and all of its fans celebrate the Mass Effect series.

Mass Effect Legendary Edition will feature the remastered versions of Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2, and Mass Effect 3 as a collection for gaming PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Bioware also confirmed that the collection will have forward compatibility and targeted enhancements on next-gen console, Xbox Series X and Playstation 5.

The Mass Effect Legendary Edition will allow fans and players to relive the legend in this remastered edition of the highly acclaimed trilogy. This collection will also include single-player base content and the DLC from Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2, and Mass Effect 3. It will also come with all the promo weapons, armors, and packs. Last but not least, the three games will be remastered and optimized for 4K Ultra HD.

According to Casey Hudson, Studio GM of Bioware, the studio’s goal with the collection’s development is not to remake or re-imagine the original games. But instead, to modernize the experience so that fans and new players can experience the original games in its best possible form.

Hudson also confirmed that a veteran team is also working hard at envisioning the next chapter of the Mass Effect universe, which only means that we might be getting a new Mass Effect game next year or by early 2022. Bioware further said that the project is in its early development stages but didn’t release any details about the game. But they said that they were looking forward to sharing the project’s vision in the future.

Mass Effect was first released in 2008 and then followed by two more games, a trilogy where the player’s choices mattered. Mass Effect 2 was later on released in 2010, then Mass Effect 3 ended the story in 2012.
