Developer Mobius Digital has finally released their newest game, Outer Wilds. The first-person sci-fi exploration game with its own handcrafted Solar System is now available on Epic Games Store for Xbox One and Microsoft Windows gaming PC. It was released last May 20, 2019.

The game was described as an “open-world mystery” which takes place in a solar system that is trapped in an endless time loop. This time loop causes the solar system to repeat itself every twenty minutes.

In Outer Wilds, the player takes the role of an astronaut who camps out on a planet near his rocket. Within 20 minutes of the game time, the sun will go supernova, ending the game. However, the game will restart at the same point. So the player must have to remember all they have learned in each run to progress.

The goal of the game is for the player to learn how he got there in the first place. He must also know the secrets of Noma and their reason behind building the said galaxy. Learning information and secrets about the planet will help the player further explore the world. The player must also know the reason why the galaxy is stuck in its time loop, and if there is any way it can be stopped.

Outer Wilds was first developed by Team Outer Wilds, who was then hired into Masi Oka’s Mobius Digital. The game first gained attention after it won the Seumas McNally Grand Prize. It also won the Excellence in Design at the Independent Games Festival Awards last 2015.

The game is currently available in the Epic Games store. It was published by Annapurna Interactive, which published the game “What Remains of Edith Flinch.”
