Capcom has finally revealed the Resident Evil game they were currently working on. It is a spin-off game that features a 4v1, asymmetrical PvP game set in the world of Resident Evil called Project Resistance.
Resident Evil: Project Resistance puts four players to work together and escape the clutches of the “Mastermind.” The twist is that the “Mastermind” is also controlled by another player. Think of its gameplay as something similar to Friday the 13th or Dead by Daylight.
On the same note, Capcom also announced that a closed beta for Project Resistance is scheduled this coming October. The closed beta is said to start between October 4 to October 7.

Project Resistance takes place on the outskirts of Racoon City. The developers also confirmed that the four survivors which the players can control will each have a unique ability.
Here are the four survivors, and their abilities:
- Samuel – an attacker who lands a barrage of punches on enemies
- Tyrone – a tank that can knock out enemies with his kick
- Valerie – a support-character who can heal her teammates
- January – a hacker who can disable security cameras and impede the Mastermind
The fifth player who takes the role of the “Mastermind” will control a series of security cameras to observe the four survivors. He can place traps and zombies in strategic locations. The Mastermind can also summon Mr. X Tyrant and control him for a limited amount of time, further into the game.
Resident Evil: Project Resistance is confirmed to be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows gaming PC via Steam.
