Publisher Koch Media confirmed that the next Saints Row game will officially be announced next year.
In August, several sources claimed that a new Saints Row game is currently deep in development, and was later on confirmed by publisher THQ Nordic.
Two years ago, Koch Media acquired THQ Nordic as part of its expansion. Its game publishing label is Deep Silver, which works with studios to produce games like Dead Island 2, Shenmue 3, and the Saints Row series.
Koch Media CEO Klemens Kundratitz explained the importance of the Saints Row series for the company, and how it is very close to their hearts. That’s why they decided to move forward with its development and plans to share the details of the upcoming game next year.
The last game in the Saints Row series was Saints Row IV in 2013. But a spin-off game was released in 2017, which is titled, Agents of Mayhem.
But Kundratitz explained that they would rather focus on developing the Saints Row series, and have no plans on continuing Agents of Mayhem. As he stated, “Saints Row is Saints Row.” And although the two games are similar, they are also different.
Saints Row is expected to be published for Microsoft Windows gaming PC, Sony PS4, and Microsoft Xbox One.
