Square Enix posted new screenshots of its upcoming remake, Nier Replicant Ver. 1.22474487319, to give fans a glimpse of the game.
The Nier Replicant Ver. 1.22474487319 is the remake of 2010’s Nier, which was exclusively released on PS3. When the game was released in Japan, it was split into two halves. The first one was the Nier Replicant, which was made into a PS3 exclusive, while the second one was the Nier Gestalt, which was made into an Xbox360 exclusive.
The only difference in the two games is that in Nier Replicant, you play as a teenage boy who needs to find a cure to save his sister. In Nier Gestalt, on the other hand, you take on the role of a middle-aged man who must protect and save his daughter. Nier Replicant was the one that was released in Japan, while Gestalt was published in the West.
Since it was named after the Japan game, it is safe to say that the remake will follow the plotline and feature the characters in Nier Replicant. So the player may take on the role of the teenage boy, who must fight the shades in a post-apocalyptic world. He must also find a cure for the Black Scrawl, a disease that has been affecting his sister.
Nier is actually a spin-off game series from the Drakengard video game series by Yoko Taro. Nier is now being remastered by Square Enix as its publisher and Toylogic as its developer.
Nier Replicant Ver. 1.22474487319 will be launched on Microsoft Windows gaming PC, Xbox One, and PS4.
