Ninja Theory, the studio behind the psychological-thriller video game, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, has announced the development of its new game. The new project is called Project: Mara.

According to its developers, Project: Mara will feature a real-world and grounded presentation of what mental terror is. In a press release, Ninja Theory further discussed the project, describing the game to be based on real lived experience accounts and in-depth research. According to the team, their goal is to create an experimental title and will showcase what could become a new way of storytelling.

The new project seems to draw a lot of influence and similarities to their previous game, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, mainly since it is also based on in-depth research into psychosis.

Aside from Project: Mara, Ninja Theory is also currently working on Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, and will still revolve around mental trauma. Another game that is also in the works at the moment is the multiplayer brawler, Bleeding Edge.

Bleeding Age will be part of the Xbox Game Studios and will be released as a first-party Xbox exclusive both on Xbox consoles and Microsoft Windows gaming PC.
