Overkill’s The Walking Dead Reveals Fourth and Final Playable Character

Overkill Software finally released the cinematic trailer for the fourth and final playable character, Heather. And unlike the first three character trailers, it shows us a different side of the story by showing the complications that arise within the survivors of the zombie apocalypse.

In the trailer, Heather is shown inside an abandoned convenience store, getting a bottle of water from the shelves. After hearing a gunshot, she quickly hides behind the shelves, and three armed persons entered the store, looking for something. One of them noticed Heather and alerted the two, following a confrontation as the three of them tries to capture Heather. With her quick wits, she managed to incapacitate two of them, even killing the woman, but was then hit in the head by the other guy, rendering her unconscious. The scene changed, showing the two men resting in the street, searching Heather’s bag for something valuable. Heather then slowly sneaked up on them, fired a flare gun to attract the zombies, and locked the street gate. Trapped inside, Heather demanded the men to give her bag back in exchange for the gate’s key which they quickly obliged to. The last scene shows Heather walking away with her bag, saying “good luck,” hinting that she might not have given them the real key.

With this trailer released, we have now been introduced to each of the four playable characters in Overkill’s The Walking Dead: Aiden, Maya, Grant, and Heather. As the developers explained, each of these characters will have unique play styles, special abilities, skill trees and squad roles. Aiden, the first character that was shown, is rumored to be a melee fighter which was hinted in his trailer that shows him wielding a bat. Maya, the second character, was revealed in her trailer to be a former surgeon, which makes her the probable healer or medic in the group. The third character, Grant, on the other hand, was holding a sniper rifle in his character trailer, suggesting him to be a long-range expert. Heather’s trailer was different though. It is the first trailer where a character’s skillset wasn’t actually hinted. But from the way she was able to survive, running away from both zombies and humans, we’re guessing stealth.

Now that all the characters are finally introduced in their respective cinematic trailers, fans are expecting to see the next trailers to show the actual gameplay which Overkill haven’t tease yet. It is rumored though that a gameplay trailer for the game will be shown at E3.

Overkill’s The Walking Dead is scheduled to be released later this year on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft PCs and gaming laptops. It is a four-player co-op action FPS set in The Walking Dead Universe, where the players are challenged to survive in the midst of a zombie apocalypse, fighting both the undead and the living.
