Overwatch offers players with 21 diverse characters, and four different roles to choose from. One of the interesting roles you can play is the “tank.” Tanks have high endurance and are effective front liners in team fights. In Overwatch, they specialize in protecting their allies and disrupting their enemies. Allow me to introduce them:
D.Va
D.Va was a pro gamer who now uses her skills to pilot a mechanized armored drone unit called MEKA. Her mech is a powerful tank equipped with Twin Fusion Cannons and has Boosters to launch itself.
ABILITIES
● Fusion Cannons
D.Va’s twin fusion rotating cannons can fire continuously without the need to reload.
● Light Gun
D.Va can continue to fight while outside of her mech using two mid-range blasters.
● Boosters
D.Va launches her mech into the air. She can turn and change directions, and can barrel through her enemies to knock them over.
● Defense Matrix
Defense matrix is a forward-facing shield.
● Self-Destruct
D.Va ejects from her mech, and sets its reactor to explode.
● Call Mech
D.Va can call down a new mech to the battlefield.
Reinhardt
Reinhardt lives by the knightly codes of valor, justice, and courage. He is a modern knight clad in a powered armor and equipped with his Rocket Hammer. He uses a massive energy barrier to defend his allies.
ABILITIES
● Rocket Hammer
Reinhardt’s Rocket Hammer is a melee weapon that deals punishing damage.
● Barrier Field
Reinhardt projects a forward-facing energy barrier to protect himself and his allies.
● Charge
Reinhardt charges straight, pinning the first enemy in his path.
● Fire Strike
Reindhardt whips his Rocket Hammer and slings a flaming projectile that damage any enemies.
● EarthShatter
Reinhardt slams his Rocket Hammer to the ground, knocking down all enemies.
Roadhog
Roadhog is a killer who earned a reputation for cruelty and wanton destruction. He uses his signature Chain Hook to pull his enemies and shred his enemies to pieces using his Scrap Gun.
ABILITIES
● Scrap Gun
Roadhog uses his scrap gun to fire short-range blasts of shrapnel. He can also use his scrap gun to launch a shrapnel ball that detonates.
● Take a Breather
Roadhog restores a chunk of his health over a period of time.
● Chain Hook
Roadhog hurls his chain at a target and drags it closer to him.
● Whole Hog
Roadhog scrap gun cranks out a stream of shrapnel that knocks down enemies and deals damage.
Winston
Winston is a genetically engineered gorilla. He brings his impressive inventions into the battlefield and use them to fight.
ABILITIES
● Tesla Cannon
Winston’s Tesla Cannon fires a short-range blast of electricity that damage enemies.
● Jump Pack
With the use of an energy pack, Winston can lunge himself through the air.
● Barrier Projector
Winston’s barrier projector that turns into a bubble-shaped field that protects him and his allies.
● Primal Rage
Upon activated, Winston embraces his animal nature which strengthens his melee attacks.
Zarya
Zarya is a former athlete and is one of the world’s strongest women. She wields a massive weapon called Particle Cannon which convert incoming damage into energy.
ABILITIES
● Particle Cannon
Zarya fires a short-range beam of destructive energy using the Particle Cannon. It can also lob an explosive charge that can strike several enemies.
● Particle Barrier
The Particle Cannon emits a personal barrier that shields Zarya from incoming attacks.
● Projected Barrier
Zarya surrounds an ally with an energy barrier that absorbs damage.
● Gravitation Surge
Zarya launches a gravity bomb that trap and draws in enemies, and deal damage.
