A Crossplay Beta is finally coming to Overwatch, as announced by its developer studio, Blizzard. The Crossplay Beta will allow gaming PC players to team up with other players using gaming consoles such as PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo Switch — and vice versa.

Overwatch’s Crossplay Beta is now available thanks to the new global Battle.net update. This update will also merge your friend lists from different territories. This means that Overwatch players don’t have to switch regions in Battle.net to play with their friends.

For Overwatch players to enable the Crossplay feature in their Beta game, they need to log in to their Battle.net account. The next thing you need to do is to link your appropriate console accounts:

  • PSN for PlayStation users
  • Xbox Live for Xbox users
  • NS Online for Nintendo Switch users.

For Overwatch players who will enable the Crossplay feature on their Battle.net account by December 31. They will receive a Golden Loot Box for free from Blizzard.

Crossplay has been a long-awaited feature Overwatch players have been wishing Blizzard to add to the game. But as many of today’s online games feature Crossplay, big companies are adding Crossplay to their online games as well.

With Overwatch receiving its new Crossplay function. It opens up its massive player base to all the other players regardless of the platform. This new function is possibly a move from Blizzard as many players wait for Overwatch 2. Overwatch 2 will be the sequel of Overwatch and is said to feature new modes and maps. The sequel will also include a robust PvE story mode to further allow players to explore the game’s universe. Players will get to know more about each of its characters.

Aside from these new features, Blizzard also confirmed that Overwatch 2’s PVP will have a 5v5 gameplay instead of the 6v6 that Overwatch players grew accustomed to. This has received mixed reactions from the gaming community. Still, nonetheless, Overwatch 2 remains to be one of the most-awaited games of 2021/2022.
