Early this April, it was leaked that the Resident Evil 8 is currently in development and is set to be released in 2021. The game will be launched for the current consoles, including Microsoft Windows gaming PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, as well as for next-gen consoles. Furthermore, it was also reported that the game will be played in first-person.

The news was released by the Video Game Chronicle, who reported that the information was from the known Resident Evil leaker that goes by the name Dusk Golem.

Dusk Golem said that Resident Evil 8 will feature new mechanics and themes, which include occultism, hallucinations, and insanity. According to Golem, his information came from internal sources that seem to work as playtesters and Capcom ambassadors.

Golem also reported that Resident Evil 8 will feature a sequence where the player finds himself in a village. Traveling through multiple routes, he must make his way to a castle while surviving the hordes of beast-men and zombies in armor. He also said that the game will also feature a witch.

Aside from that, the Video Game Chronicle also reported that Resident Evil 8 will again feature the protagonist of Resident Evil 7, Ethan Winters.

For now, Capcom has not commented about the leaked information. So we can’t exactly confirm if these statements are true.
