Riot’s League of Money?

Riot is offering their employees 10% of their salary to quit their jobs. This is an attempt to filter out all current employees who don’t have their interests aligned with Riot’s mission statement.

“From the beginning we’ve focused on culture,” wrote Riot on its website. “We operate on a foundation of shared mission, values, passion, trust, and mutual respect.

Riot continues to talk about how having individuals on staff who are in it for just the money is not something they wish to support.

“If someone gags on the unique flavor of our culture, they’d be doing themselves and the company a disservice to hang on just for the paycheck.”

All-in-all, having developed one of the biggest competitive online games, if not the biggest, Riot is doing something right. As a part of the gaming community, it’s heartening to hear that the people in charge of developing and maintaining this game that is played all around the world, which people are making occupations out of, are doing everything they can in order to keep their company as coherent and stable as possible. League of Legends might be considered the biggest online interactive game to date and it has always been hailed for being incredibly balanced. Riot has been complimented several times about how they do an excellent job of reading players’ complaints and making weekly modifications in order to balance the game. All this does for gamers is reconfirm the notion that Riot has its best interests aligned with the happiness of the people playing their games.
