During E3 2017, Bethesda finally announced the making of the sequel to 2014 classic survival horror The Evil Within.
The game will launch on October 13, 2017, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows gaming PCs and laptops. Like the first game, the sequel is developed by Bethesda’s own Tango Gameworks, a studio run by the industry legend led by the industry legend Shinji Mikami.
The news was revealed along with a new cinematic trailer. According to Bethesda’s, the game is set years before the events of the first game. Detective Sebastian Castellanos is given a chance to save his daughter Lily, who passed away in a tragic house fire. However, to do this, he must descend once more into the nightmarish world of STEM.
It will take place in the city of Union, where Sebastian will travel in a world that takes place between reality and hell. It is a horrifying domain where horrific threats emerge from every corner. In this place, Sebastian must find answers regarding his daughter’s whereabouts together with the help of his former colleague, Juli Kidman, who will act as his on-hand guide through the world’s treacherous puzzles and vicious enemies.
According to Shinji Mikami, The Evil Within 2 is crafted to be very compelling. He also stated that each stage the players delve into will be very unique, and will surely be giving us nightmares.
