Team Envy — one of the most iconic names in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive history — may be leaving the competitive CS:GO scene forever. Once dominating with one of the most elite CS:GO rosters of all time, EnVyUs has decided to drop all of its players, including its academy division. This makes for a total of 11 players. The list is:

-Vincent “Happy” Cervoni                      -Cédric “RpK” Guipouy

-Adil ScreaM” Benrlitom                       -Fabien “kioShiMa” Fiey

-Ali “hAdji” Haïnouss                               -Alexandre “xms” Forté

-Christophe “SIXER” Xia                          -Lambert “Lambert” Prigent

-Julien “PetitSkel” Marcantoni              -Audric “JACKZ” Jug

-Valentin “VKLL” Bartolomei.

Prior to this sudden decision, Team Envy really did try and make changes. They replaced SIXER and xms with kioShiMa and hAdj in an attempt to recover from a slump following the departures of former stars Kenny “kennyS” Schrub, Dan “apEX” Madesclaire and Nathan “NBK” Schmitt. But it wasn’t enough. Nothing went right, and the recent absence of Happy and RpK in the CS:GO Asia Championship resulted in a performance below Envy’s standards.

With rival French team G2 Esports consistently outperforming Team Envy, we don’t anticipate to see EnVyUs in the competitive CS:GO scene anytime soon. And yet, while their CS:GO endeavors have stopped now, their rich history of success (including wins at DreamHack Open Cluj-Napoca 2015 and World Electronic Sports Games 2016) may see them making a comeback in coming years.

But for now, 11 new free agents have hit the markets. Time will tell what changes in competitive CS:GO rosters these players will create.
