NieR: Automata has received an overwhelming success worldwide after it was released last March 2017. In fact, just a few days ago, Square Enix has announced that the game has shipped over 2 million units already. No wonder that the success is starting to open new doors for the whole NieR franchise.

Recently, Square Enix has posted a new hiring notice to its website. According to the recruitment notice itself, they are looking for a new talent who interested to handle “NieR-related product scenario creation” and “planning work.” The person will be responsible for creating plots for sub-quests and scenario framing, design instructions such as NPC design specifications, and write item descriptions for in-game use.

The recruiting page of the Square Enix Business Division 6 also includes a message from the director of the NieR series Yoko Taro and the series producer Yosuke Saito.

Yoko Taro mentioned that due to NieR: Automata’s success, they will be carrying out various developments regarding the NieR franchise. He also said that he is rounding up a team of people to work with him in the said project.

Yosuke Saito understands why people are waiting for more NieR games. So even though Yoko Taro didn’t want to create another one anymore, he insisted him to do so. And with that, he hopes to find people who could help Yoko in weaving a new game set in the world of NieR.

As fans of Yoko Taro knows, NieR: Automata is actually a spin-off game of the Drakengard series. So many are quite thinking if they are actually working on a spin-off game for the NieR: Automata, or will it be a new entry. Although we don’t have any information or details about it, one thing we know, we’re sure that the next NieR game will be as awesome as Automata.

If you haven’t played NieR: Automata yet, you can download it on Steam for Microsoft Windows gaming PCs and laptops, Sony PlayStation 4 and XBox One. The game follows the story of androids 2B, 9S, and A2 as they fight to reclaim the machine-driven dystopia ruled by powerful machines.
