For avid PUBG fans eager to see professional players battle it out in a competitive tournament, you’re in luck. Just today, StarSeries i-League PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Season 2 was announced, and it looks to be even better than Season 1, which was held earlier this year. Let’s dive right into all the details.

Format

Season 2 features several changes from Season 1, the first being that there are now two stages of the LAN finals (group stage and final), with each stage containing 16 teams. The 16 teams in the group stage will fight for 8 team spots in the finals stage, while the other 8 team slots in the finals will be filled by the original top 8 teams from StarSeries i-League PUBG’s Season 1.

Prize Money

Along with the glory and bragging rights of winning the tournament, teams are also playing for a $100,000 prize pool, with the first place team taking home a hefty $50,000 of the money.

Schedule

The tournament is going to be held over 8 action-packed days, with a total of 24 matches in the group stage and 24 matches in the final. Just like last Season 1, all StarSeries i-League games can be watched live on their Twitch channels.

Official days:

  • August 25-28 (Group Stage)
  • August 29 (Rest-day)
  • August 30-September 2 (Finals)

Miscellaneous

As of now, StarSeries i-League have not announced which top teams from Season 1 will be attending the Season 2 tournament. However, top teams last season, like tournament winners FaZe Clan, Team Liquid, Team Vitality, and Cloud9 are expected to attend. But with an additional 16 teams in the group stage for Season 2, there’s sure to be a lot of fresh faces.
