Subnautica is Finally Launched Out of its Early Access Status

It was in December 2014 when the indie video game company, Unknown Worlds Entertainment, released their first game on Steam called Subnautica. It is an open-world exploration game that introduces the player to an alien underwater world filled with creatures and living organisms of wonder and peril.

In Subnautica, the game starts with the player crashing his spaceship to an unknown underwater planet. To survive, the player must learn how to use what is left of his inventories to search the planet, scavenge for food and things he can use, and learn more about its creatures and environment.

Since the release of its early access, Subnautica has gained more than 1.5 million players worldwide. And the best thing about it is, the game is finally launched out of its early access status last January 23. It is now available on Steam and Arc for $24.99.

In a statement released by Subnautica, Charlie Cleveland, Co-Founder and Game Director at Unknown Worlds Entertainment, said: “Since the game’s beta release in 2014, Subnautica has received waves of positive and constructive feedback from our dedicated players.”

He also stated how the team is grateful to the community for their overwhelming support, and they are proud to deliver an experience that gamers of all ages will dive into. They also want the players to feel the thrill of exploration and survival in an expansive undersea world.

On a different note, Cleveland also confirmed that the team has no plans for future content as of now. He indicated that the team wants to see how the 1.0 version performs financially before committing any plans for DLC. But the plans for DLC is sure to happen in the form of paid expansions in the future.
