Tales of Arise Release Date Delayed

Bandai Namco’s Tales of Arise has been delayed due to the global pandemic situation caused by the coronavirus.

Tales of Arise is the next entry to the Tales series by Yusuke Tomizawa. The announcement came via a letter he posted online. In his letter, he explained how the coronavirus outbreak has affected the development of the game. Although the team had done their best to adapt to the situation by implementing remote development, it was not enough.

According to Tomizawa, the team needs more time to achieve the quality and deliver the experience they envisioned for their players. This is why they need more time to delay the launch timing of the game.

No new launch date was given, but Tomizawa promises that he will provide it once that the team has more details to share about the development of the game.

Tales of Arise was first announced during Microsoft’s Xbox E3 2019 press conference. As stated earlier, it is the next entry in the Tales Series following Tales of Beseria.

The game takes place between the medieval world of Dahna and the advanced world of Rena. The superior magical and technological development of Rena has caused it to take over Dahna, taking its resources and turning its people to slaves. The game follows the story of a Dahna man named Alphen and a woman from Rena named Shionne, who end up traveling together.

Similar to the previous games in the series, Tales of Arise will be a role-playing action game. However, it’s gameplay has gone to specific alterations as part of its development. Although Tomizawa made it clear that the game will retain the Tales’ basic battle system.

Tales of Arise will be launched for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Microsoft Windows gaming PC. There are no details yet if it will be released for next-gen consoles, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
