Sega has announced that their strategic game, A Total War Saga: Troy, will launch exclusively on Epic Games Store on August 13 for gaming PC.
A Total War Saga: Troy will also be free to download for the first 24 hours of its launch. Anyone who will be able to claim the game during that period will be able to keep the game forever. After its 24-hour period promo, the game will be available for purchase at its standard price.
It will be exclusive to Epic Games Store for a year. After that, the game will be available on other digital PC storefronts like Steam.
According to Sega Europe Ltd. Chief Studio Officer Tim Heaton, the free offer is to give players who haven’t played a Total War game a chance to check out the series without even spending a coin.
Heaton also explained that their decision to launch the game exclusively to Epic Games is to bring its tales and legends to the store’s massive audience.
A Total War Saga: Troy is an award-winning grand turn-based strategy that features real-time battles. In-game, the player takes the role of Achilles, Hector, and other characters from Greek mythology. Together they must defend or destroy the city of Troy.
