Ubisoft Announces Assassin's Creed Infinity

Ubisoft announced that they are currently working on a new Assassin’s Creed game titled Assassin’s Creed Infinity. The video game company provides extra details about the team who is working on the project. However, they don’t include anything about the new game’s structure or gameplay details.

According to the managing directors of Ubisoft Quebec and Ubisoft Montreal, Assassin’s Creed Infinity is a code given to an upcoming and early-in-development project.

Assassin’s Creed Infinity will be developed by a new cross-studio, collaborative structure consisting of talents from the Montreal and Quebec teams. The creative leads at each studio will be Ubisoft Montreal’s Clink Hocking and Ubisoft Quebec’s Jonathan Dumont. Dumont has worked on Assassin’s Creed Syndicate and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. On the other hand, Hocking has worked on games like Watch Dogs: Legion and Far Cry 2.

Assassin’s Creed Infinity is reportedly going to be an online platform that will feature multiple historical settings, which will evolve over time. This means Infinity will feature ongoing updates and is designed to have gameplay that will run for years. Assassin’s Creed Infinity will also feature different settings, unlike its predecessors, which featured single historical locations.

According to Bloomberg, Assassin’s Creed Infinity would seemingly feature multiple games in the series. But although they might feel different, everything is connected. Ubisoft says that they want the new game to exceed the fans’ expectations, including a more cohesive approach to the game.

If Assassin’s Creed Infinity is what it says, it will bring a massive change for the whole franchise. But in recent years, Ubisoft has been trying to incorporate a live service approach on the game, as seen with Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla. These Assassin’s Creed games have received regular free updates and paid cosmetic DLC.

Ubisoft hasn’t released any details as to when the game will be released as of this writing. However, it is reported that Assassin’s Creed Infinity will be released by 2024 or 2025 for gaming pc and next-gen consoles.
