Warhammer: Vermintide 2: Grail Knight
FatShark
Warhammer: Vermintide 2 Season 3 is finally upon us. The most standout element that comes with it is definitely a brand-spanking-new career. In fact, its Vermintide 2’s first new career since the game debuted back in 2018. The new career in question is the uber-powerful (at least in the lore) Grail Knight, which normally hails from the noble kingdom of Bretonnia.
In Vermintide 2, this new career is actually linked directly to Markus Kruber from the Empire, who is also known (in this iteration at least) as his more Bretonnian name, Markus de Mandelot.
In Warhammer lore, knights who seek to become Grail Knights must first go through some seriously deadly trials. If he somehow manages to survive these trials and tribulations (most don’t), he’ll be granted the blessing of the Lady of the Lake and supernatural powers will be bestowed upon him, as well as some enchanted arms and armor. Just imagine Captain America being transformed via the super-soldier serum, but times 10, and you have an idea of how powerful these super-knights are.
In Warhammer: Vermintide 2, Kruber undergoes this transformation after the Lady of the Lake super-charges his mortal body, and he arises in a new set of mystical plate armor. Oh, and he now has a badass magical sword.
As with all Bretonnian knights, Grail Knights never engage in ranged combat since they deem it un-manly and cowardly. Therefore, Markus de Mandelot is best when he is in the thick of battle, slicing and dicing his enemies up-close and personal with his new-fangled, two-handed Bretonnian Longsword. He also has the option of a one-handed Bretonnian Sword and shield, but who wants that when you can step up to the big leagues?
The new Grail Knight career for Markus gets the aforementioned two new weapon types, with this DLC—the Bretonnian Longsword and the Bretonnian Sword and Shield—as well as a new talent tree, character skin, voiceover, and abilities. Plus, there’s a cosmetic upgrade that can be purchased separately that gives the Grail Knight some all-new looks.
If you’re a fan of Vermintide 2 and you want to get your hands on the new Grail Knight career for Markus, the good news is the update has been available since June 23rd. You can purchase the career as DLC from Steam and it costs $3.99. I’m not quite sure if it’s just my sense of nostalgia for the game talking to me or what, but the Grail Knight certainly has convinced me to get back into Vermintide 2, along with a few gaming buddies.
Warhammer: Vermintide 2 has some pretty good looking graphics that make its hack n’ slash gameplay truly shine. However, you want to have a pretty beefy gaming PC or gaming laptop in order to play it at a decent framerate. So, you may just want to invest in a decent gaming rig:
