Microsoft have set plans in place for a big reveal of Windows 9 on September 30, 2014.
Sources have presented information stating that Microsoft will be revealing Windows 9, codename Threshold, at a preview event. In past previews, Microsoft gave insight on the new programs and utilities that each software will have to offer.
Items we can look forward to that have been revealed so far include the revival of the Start Menu, something eliminated (kind of) in Windows 8. Though we have heard there was going to be a Windows 8 update re-introducing a Start Menu, it’s been a common comparison so far that Windows 9 will be to Windows 8 as Windows 7 was to Windows Vista.
Other features include updated miniature apps that you would be able to open up on the start menu, and the addition of Cortana, Microsoft’s virtual assistant and answer to Apple’s Siri. Microsoft Windows 9 is set to be released in Spring of 2015 and more questions will be answered as we get closer to September 30.
What do you think of these new changes? Are you happy about moving on from Windows 8? Did you prefer Windows 8? Let us know what you think in the comments down below.
