Epic Games and Microsoft are currently working together to bring Fortnite to Xbox Cloud Gaming. This brings the popular battle royale game to PC and iOS mobile devices through streaming.
For those interested in playing Epic’s battle royale, you just need a Microsoft account and a Windows PC or iOS device with internet to play the game through a browser. Players don’t even need to subscribe to Xbox Game Pass. Fortnite will be free-to-play through Xbox Cloud Gaming.
Xbox Cloud Gaming – Fortnite
Xbox Cloud Gaming will let you play Fortnite instantly without the need to install it onto your gaming PC or iOS mobile device locally. The service is part of the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, but Fortnite does not require any membership for users to play. Instead, you can log in to your Microsoft account through xbox.com/play on a web browser to start playing Fortnite.
The browser version of Fortnite means that players will be able to play it on their IOS devices. This is good news, especially since Apple decided to delist Fortnite from their IOS App Store. The same setup was offered before by Nvidia for a limited time when the company added Fortnite to its streaming platform GeForce Now.
Fortnite – Battle Royale Game
Fortnite was released in September 2017. Like other battle royale games, Fortnite pits 100 players onto an island to scavenge for gear to defend themselves from other players. Players can choose to fight alone (Solo), with another player (Duo), with two other players (Trios), and with a group of four players (Squads).
As the match progresses, the playable area within the area will gradually constrict, giving the players less space to move. Outside the safe zone, players will be exposed to the Storm, which will inflict damage. The amount of damage will also grow as the Storm itself does. The last player or team alive will win the game.
